THE PRP PROCEDURE PROCESS
Our PRP treatment is a quick, minimally invasive procedure performed in our clinic with minimal discomfort and no significant downtime. Here’s how it works:
- A small amount of blood (20-50ml) is drawn from your arm.
- The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate its components: Red Blood Cells, Plasma, and Platelet Rich Plasma.
- The Platelet Rich Plasma is isolated and activated with calcium to enhance its healing properties.
- After administering local or topical anesthesia, the PRP is injected into the targeted thinning areas of your scalp.
WHAT IS PRP for HAIR LOSS?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is an innovative treatment for hair regeneration, using the body’s own concentrated platelets to stimulate hair follicles, promote natural hair growth, and improve hair thickness.
WHO CAN PRP HELP?
PRP therapy for hair loss can help a wide range of individuals experiencing thinning hair or early stages of hair loss. It’s particularly effective for those with androgenic alopecia (pattern baldness), both in men and women, individuals with thinning hair due to stress, hormonal changes, or other non-scarring forms of alopecia. For people looking to strengthen existing hair and improve hair thickness and pre and post hair transplants.
HOW DOES PRP HELP HAIR LOSS?
PRP therapy harnesses the power of your body’s own platelets, which play a crucial role in healing and cell repair. Platelets contain growth factors that stimulate cell rejuvenation and tissue repair. When injected into areas of thinning hair, these growth factors—such as PDGF and FEGF—can counteract the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) on hair follicles, potentially reversing the miniaturization process and promoting hair regrowth.
The growth factors in PRP contribute to various regenerative processes, including:
- Tissue repair
- New blood vessel formation (angiogenesis)
- Collagen production
- Normalization of hair follicle function
RECOMMENDED PRP TREATMENT SCHEDULE
To achieve optimal PRP hair growth results, a series of treatments is generally recommended:
- Initial Treatment
- Second Treatment at 1 Month
- Third Treatment at 2 Months
- Fourth Treatment at 6 Months
- Fifth Treatment at 1 Year
- Sixth Treatment at 1.5 Years
- Follow-up Treatments every 6 months as needed

WHO PERFORMS THE PRP THERAPY?
Our qualified, registered nurses or visiting doctors handle all treatments, ensuring a professional and safe experience.
IS PRP HAIR THERAPY SAFE?
PRP therapy carries minimal risk as it uses your own blood, reducing the chances of allergic reactions or infections. Comprehensive consent forms will outline any potential risks, and you’ll have access to support should you have any questions post-treatment.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A PRP SESSION?
Before your session, follow the pre-treatment guidelines provided by Amy our cosmetic nurse. This includes avoiding alcohol and smoking, increasing fluid intake, ceasing blood-thinning medications if advised, and maintaining a clean diet in the two weeks leading up to your treatment. The better the preparation with diet, the better yield of PRP and therefore the best possible outcome for your sessions.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER A PRP SESSION?
Post-treatment care is straight forward. You’ll receive detailed instructions to monitor for any swelling or discomfort, avoid alcohol, smoking, and certain medications for a few days, and stay out of the sun for the remainder of the day.
Embrace the potential of PRP therapy and take the first step toward revitalizing your hair.
